Today is D day as all roads lead to the Bush Lot United Turf Club (BLUTC) for their grand one day multimillion dollars horserace meet at the club’s Sea View Park, Bush Lot, West Coast, Berbice racetrack.
With the final releases being made for the nine races meet which has over $8.5 M in cash and trophies up for grabs and with over 80 horses now entered the action is expected to be riveting. Especially since some of the horses will be having an opportunity to compete for the first time for the year and some the first time in Guyana.
The feature race for animals classified B and lower compliments of the Bush Lot United Turf Club for a first prize of $1.2M over 1400M. With the likes of Score’s Even, the Message, Grande Roja, Renia Del Café, Got to Go, Diamond Dazzling, Who’s on the Case and Diamond Illusion among others.
Banks DIH Limited is on board for the three year old Guyana and West Indies Bred 1400M race which has the likes of Wild Grinder; it’s my turn, Another Jet and Block Bay in competition for the $500,000 and the Dennis DeRoop trophy.
The D and lower 1400M race compliments of Jumbo Jet and Shano Seenarine for the Banks DIH Trophy with a first prize of $450,000 and trophy will have Stormy Flame, Red and Lovely, Quiet Storm, Miss Karina, Home Bush Baby, Top of The Line, Traditional man and Fresh Again, Diamond Illusion, Renia Del café and Diamond Dazzling in competition.
Aron Lall Civil Engineering and Construction is on board for the G class 1200M race for a pole position taking of $350,000 and the Dr. Guy Lowe trophy has the likes of Indian King, Dream Girl, Flying in the park, Princess Kiara, Captain Crook, Rosetta, Quiet Storm and Traditional man.
There is also $350,000 available for the winner of the Guyana Bred three year old 1400M event compliments of Mohammed Shariff for the Lakeram “Bubby” Sookdeo Trophy with Dream Boy, She so special, Royal Passion, Lucky Gold, Ameera’s Joy and Silent Night in contention.
The race for I class horses with the compliments of Buddy Shivraj for the Phagoo General store trophy has a pole position taking of $200,000and trophy over 1200M. Some of those entered are Prospectors Pride, The Gump, Lucky Gold, princess Renuka, Pixie Fire, Mona Lisa, and I want Revenge.
The J class event compliments of Inshan Bacchus for the Joseph Downes trophy over 1200M will see the likes of Obama, Bounty Flyer, Windy Killer, May Ann, the Diplomat; It’s My time, Sugar Boy, Pick Pocket and Sun Raiser competing for the $150,000 top prize.
The J3 and lower event has been added to the day’s programme compliments of the BLUTC and will see the horses galloping for a winner’s take of $130,000 over 1200M. Over 12 horses have been entered for that event.
Romel Jagroop takes charge of the K class match which has the likes of Pleasant Surprise, Wicket Revenge, Gold Rush, Secretariat among the 14 listed to compete for the $120,000 over 1200M for the Lenny Singh trophy.
Among the stables expected to be a part of the days programme are the Jumbo Jet, Shariff, Elcock, Singh, Crawford, DeRoop, David, Jagmohan, Bacchus, Quinn, Habibulla, Sookdeo, Jagdeo Night eyes, and Ashrafally among others.
The individual performers including top jockey, stable and trainer will be presented with trophies compliments of The Trophy Stall, Bourda Market and the organisers.
