The 2nd edition of the Trophy Stall sponsored West Demerara Football Association (WDFA) Under-17 League kicked off yesterday at the Dem Amstel Community Centre Ground with one match.
Eagles Football Club based at Sara Lodge, Stewartville took full points from Bagotsville / Nismes compliments of a Stephan Griffith goal in the final 10 minutes of the 90 minutes encounter.
The official opening of the tournament is set for Sunday next at the same venue from 13:00hrs where the participating teams will be involved in the ceremonial March-Past. Following the opening, two matches will be contested.
Defending champions Den Amstel Pork Knockers will be featured in the main attraction against Seawall FC of Pouderoyen with the first game at 13:30hrs bringing together Uitvlugt Warriors and Young Achievers, another Pouderoyen based team.
