A medical team from the George Washington University Hospital in the United States is on a five-day visit to have an overview of the health facilities with an outlook to collaborating with Guyana to improve local clinical care.

The team comprising Drs Jeffrey Berger, Associate Professor of Anesthesiology and Critical Care Medicine; Khashayar Vaziri, Co-Director of Doctors International at the GW Medical Faculty; Paul Dangerfield, Director of Clinical Anesthesiology; Prem Singh and Raj Singh paid a visit to Minister of Health Dr. Bheri Ramsaran at his office on Friday.
Dr Dangerfield who is Director of Clinical Anesthesiology said that his mission is to serve the people of Guyana and the team will be returning to develop the relationship started.
A presentation for the team’s benefit was done on Guyana’s Health vision 2013-2020 by Dr. Irv Chan. Topics covered were the re-organisation of the delivery of health services, strengthening the skilled workforce, health literacy, and communicable and non communicable diseases. (GINA)
