Camille’s Institute for Business and Science Studies located at Lot 1-4 Soesdyke, East Bank Demerara, held its annual Santa Parade recently where it shared 350 gifts to residents in the area.
The route was from the Texaco gas station to the Madewini outpost. It was the only of its kind on the East Bank of Demerara.
The private school which was established approximately twelve years ago, celebrated its seventh parade by sharing gifts that included toys, stationery and hampers to children below the age of ten. Kids and adults of all ages joined the parade.
This year the students and teachers assisted the institution by staging its annual Christmas concert to raise funds for this event.
According to the Principal, Camille Deokie Gorakh, the school has been a part of the Soesdyke community. Most of the students are villagers. That, she stressed, was the reason the institute decided to have a Santa parade annually, “to show appreciation for the overwhelming support the institution receives during the year.”
