Transparency Institute Guyana Inc., the national contact of Transparency International, will be holding its first annual formal fund raising dinner this evening at the Pegasus Hotel. The event is to raise funds to finance the work of the organisation for the coming year.
The guest of honour will be former West Indies Vice Captain, Mr. Deryck Murray, Chairman of the Trinidad and Tobago Transparency Institute – national chapter of Transparency International. Mr. Murray will deliver an anti-corruption speech at the dinner and will also share the experiences of the Trinidad chapter in promoting transparency and accountability.
Mr. Deryck Murray is also a former West Indian cricketer and a Cambridge Scholar.
There will be an address by the British High Commissioner to Guyana, Mr. Andrew Ayre as well as brief remarks by the President of Transparency Guyana, Mr. Gino Persaud, Attorney-at-Law.
The event starts at 19:00 hours with a cocktail reception followed by the dinner.
