Bhiraj Bhikham,a/k Blue Boy,24,of Zorg-En-Vlyght, Essequibo Coast, died while he was washing a combine at his employer, Roopan Roopnarine complex, at Land Of Plenty, Essequibo Coast, on Saturday ,17, last.
Bhikham, a mechanic by profession, died after being struck in his chest by an instrument which burst.
Relating the saddening incident, Lilawattie, a/k Dollie, Bhikham’s mother, said that her son, the second of three children was at the time washing a combine with a water pressure hose when a piece of instrument attached to the combine burst, eventually hitting him in his chest.
The young man was subsequently taken to the Suddie Public Hospital by one of his employer’s daughters, where he was pronounced dead by a doctor.
Mrs. Bhikham said that upon examining her son’s body at the hospital, she saw the effect of the blow.
She said her son had been working as a mechanic for the past four to five years at Roopan Roopnarine’s complex.
Arrangements are in place to have a post mortem performed on her son’s remains on Tuesday, Lilawattie said.
