Three men were yesterday remanded to prison having been charged jointly for attempted murder and robbery under arms.
The accused Asim Shivgobind, 15, a carpenter of Number 76 New Housing Scheme, Doodraj Dass, 20, a porter of 76 Scottburg, Corriverton, and Azam Bacchus, 17, of Number 76 New Housing Scheme, made their appearance yesterday at the Springlands Magistrate’s Court. The matter was called before Magistrate Krisendat Persaud
It is alleged that on Sunday November 11, the trio, being armed with a gun, robbed Jermaine Rover, and shot him.
The men were not required to plea and were denied bail. They will make their next court appearance on December 6.
On Sunday, last, Jermaine Rover was held at gunpoint and relieved of his car after being hired by three men. The incident occurred after the three men requested that Rover take them to Moleson Creek. While at Moleson Creek, Rover was shot and his car taken away. The man was eventually rescued and taken to the New Amsterdam Hospital where he was treated and admitted in a critical condition.
