My dear land of Guyana

DEAR EDITOR,
I often look at the action of people around me and I wonder about the laws of our dear land of GUYANA. Then I remember 1997. Hence, it is normal for a pedestrian to be walking in the street because the pavements are completely blocked with cars. When you encounter this know that you are in GUYANA.
When you encounter two trucks stop at an inter-section side by side one going east and one going west and they engage each other in meaningful conversation oblivious to the tooting of the horns of frustrated drivers, be sure that you are in GUYANA.
When you see a taxi parked in the middle of the road with its hazard light on patiently waiting on a passenger he has just put off, his attention solely on the crap coming out of his CD player, not caring one heck about the build of traffic and the confusion going on around him, know that you are in a land that has no law. Do you know the name? Of course you do. It is known the world over as GUYANA.
Parliament in any land is supposed to be the highest forum of lawmaking. When something has been endorsed by Parliament everyone is supposed to adhere to it. In GUYANA it is different. Oh what a land.
