The Guyana Floodlight Softball Cricket Association’s second International Softball three day tournament will take place on Friday and Saturday at various venues in Georgetown, with the finals slated for Everest on Sunday at 10:00am sharp.
A total of forty two (42) matches will be played during the three days. The tournament has twenty four teams taking part and will be played in two categories comprising of twelve teams each: 1. Guyana Softball Cup Open 20/20, which will feature men of any age. 2. Guyana Softball Cup Masters 20/20, which features men 40 years and over.
Total prize money on offer is $1,900,000 along with many beautiful trophies. Players of the Tournament will each receive a men’s gold bracelet. For added entertainment at the finals at Everest, GFSCA plans to create a carnival atmosphere. Tents will be set up beyond the boundaries, Travelers sound system, Dancers (female & male), and Tassa Drums will be present. There will also be three female 10/10 exhibition games, featuring Mike’s Wellwoman, 4R Lioness, Trophy Stall Angels and Karibee Girls, before the two finals.
Action on Sunday starts at 9:30am. Admission is $500. Guyana Softball Cup 2 magazine will be on sale at the finals for a cost of $300 each.
