2012 Tenelec Inc First Division 50-Over Cricket Competition in Berbice…
The 2012 Tenelec Inc First Division 50-Over Round Robin Cricket Competition in Berbice continued with three third round matches recently.
West Indies batsman Narsingh Deonarine hit 51, which included 3 fours and 3 sixes and which was his second half century in the competition so far.
The knock assisted Albion Community Centre post a fairly good total of 232 for 8 in 50-Overs against arch rivals Rose Hall Town Gizmos & Gadgets whose current test player Assad Fudadin picked up 2 for 27 from 10-Overs.
When Rose Hall town replied, they were given a start of 52 from Renwick Batson (27) and Dominique Rikhi (26) before West Indies selectee left arm spinner Veerasammy Permaul removed both of them and Guyana batsman Royston Crandon (1) reducing them to 65 for 3. Fudadin, who batted at three, then found a partner in former Guyana wicketkeeper batsman Delbert Hicks (20), they put on 42 for the 4th wicket.
After that Fudadin and Jason Sinclair saw Rose Hall Town through to victory without any flutters at 236 for 4 in 45.2 Overs with Fudadin ending on 78 N.O. (3 fours and 7 sixes) and Sinclair 60 N.O. (6 fours).
Opening batsman Brentnol Woolford slammed his second consecutive half century when he hit 90 (10 fours) for Bush Lot United Rising Star. He and Ravi Gossai (46) put on 116 for the first wicket and then he added 33 for the second with Keno Gravesande (18) after which he and Asif Khan put on 49 for the 3rd wicket. Asif Khan, a former Berbice Under-15 cricketer, went on to make 59 (4 fours and 1 six) to help Bush Lot post a challenging 253 for 6 in 45 Overs.
Police made a spirited challenge but eventually were bowled out for 225 with Khan coming back with his medium pacers to take 3 for 31 from 9 Overs and offspinner Woolford taking 2 for 52 from 10 Overs.
Medium pacer Vishal Mohabir took 5 for 41 from 10 Overs to help Young Warriors restrict Edinburgh to 170. When Warriors replied Guyana Under-19 batsman Shimron Hetmyer slammed 53 (8 fours and 1 six) – the two of them putting on 86 for the 1st wicket in just 11 Overs to put them on the road to an easy 7-wicket victory.

3. At Cumberland, Young Warriors beat Edinburgh by 7 wickets. Edinburgh decided to take first strike, 170 in 44.2 Overs with Seeram Seecoomar 42, Denny David 39, Rudranath Seepersaud 26 N.O., Vishal Mohabir 5 for 41, Gajanand Singh 2 for 12 from 2.2 Overs.
Young Warriors 171 for 3 in 28 Overs with Shimron Hetmyer 53, Richard Ramdeen 51, Seon Hetmyer 30.
