Shoe thief makes wrong step!

On his first strike at a store he was successful, so a shoplifter assumed that a second time would be equally rewarding. He was wrong.
Yesterday, the man, who gave his name as Compton Robertson, entered the Shoe Source on Regent Street and began moving around like any normal customer. Little did he know that he had been caught on camera on a previous occasion stealing shoes, so when he entered the store yesterday, the employees allowed him in to conduct ‘business’ but kept a close eye on him. Within minutes the man, as anticipated, was caught on surveillance camera packing a pair of ladies shoes in his haversack. He was allowed to secure his bag and was then confronted by employees of the store. He denied that he had stolen from the store until his bag was searched.
The police were called in, but not before the man was tied to a utility pole just outside of the store as he began behaving in a disorderly manner in the store. The suspect was subsequently handed over about one hour later to the police who took awhile to respond to the report.
All that time the man remained tied to the pole as passersby, many of whom expressed the sentiment that that was mild treatment for a thief, stopped to get a good look at him.
