GCA\Noble House Sea Foods 2 day 2nd Division tourney…

3rd Class, Muslim Youth Organization and Everest CC recorded victories while GCC and DCC played to a draw when play in the Georgetown Cricket Association\ Noble House Sea Foods 2 day second division competition commenced last weekend with four matches.
At GNIC, 3rd class upset the host by 7 wickets. GNIC batted first and scored 222 all out in 47 overs. Jason Melville led with 92 (15×4, 3×6), while Orlando Kurten and Ulric Robertson supported with 29 and 23 respectively, Alvin Castello grabbed 4-43 and Ray Brian took 3-61.
3rd Class then responded with 229 all out in 63.1 overs. Andrea O’Neal top scored with 47 and Trevor Hussain contributed 33 as Kurten snared 4-74 and Royston Simon 3-22.
GNIC, with a deficit of 7 runs, declared on 161-9 in their second innings with Mark Nicholson 49 and Tevin Collins 30 being their principal scorers. Brian and Castello continued their fine form with the ball by taking 5-52 and 3-78 respectively. Castello then showed his allround prowess by stroking an excellent 101 as 3rd Class reached their winning target of 154 in 22 overs for the loss of 3 wickets. At MYO, the home team got the better of Malteenoes SC by 6 wickets. MSC were bowled out for 161 in 29.4 overs in their first innings with Kiefer Naughton 48, Jamal Norton 26 and Antone Atwell 24 getting among the runs. Imtiaz Pooran picked up 4-16 and Chien Gittens 2-42.
MYO fell for 159 in 25 overs in reply with Zamal Khan scoring 52(11×4). Atwell bagged 6-49 and Shaquille Williams 2-41. MSC batting a second time were dismissed for 192 in 40 overs. Devon Mc Ewan made 37 and got assistance from Denzel Allen 35, Vishal Narayan 33, Norton 25 and Williams 22. Pooran 3-20, Parsram Parmanand 2-50 and Mohamed Wazidally 2-39 were the main wickets takers for the host.
Needing 195 for victory, MYO, led by Gittens with 78 not out (12×4), Richard Latiff an unbeaten 36 (3×6, 3×4) and Wazidally 30 (7×4) achieved victory in 32.3 overs, losing 4 wickets in their chase. Vishal Narayan took 2-33.
At YMCA, Everest hammered Vikings by an innings and 75 runs. Everest batted first and posted 303 before they declared for the loss of 8 wickets. Khemraj Ramdeen slammed seven fours and six sixes in 107, while Riyad Sattaur supported with 62 (8×4, 1×6) and extras 45. Shane Bacchus snared 5-53 and R. Persaud 3-56.
Vikings in response were routed for 124 in 35.5 overs. A. Persaud made 45 as Javeed Rasheed captured 7-44 and Raphael Singh 2-10. Vikings were asked to follow on and were bowled out for 114 in 23.2 overs in their second innings. Damien Ross got 33 as Deon Thomas finished with 5-8 and Sattaur 3-12.
At GYO, GCC and DCC game ended in a draw with the latter taking first innings points. GCC made 142 before they were bowled out in 35 overs. Alex Ramalho was their leading run getter with 41 and Manny Forde chipped in with 30. Clint Grant grabbed 6-67. DCC replied with 190 all out with Lawrence Smith leading the way with 66 (10×4, 1×6) and Xavie Smith contributing 60 (9×4). Shamar Graham took 3-22 and Samuel Mc Kenzie 2-21.
Trailing by 48, GCC in their second innings declared on 212-9. Almando Doman cracked 61, while Forde made 41. DCC in their second turn at the crease ended on 73-6 in 22 overs. Kemol Savory scored 17 as Graham and Devon Lord picked up 2 wickets apiece. The competition continues on Saturday.
