Teachers Day was observed in Berbice with a series of activities which was held on various days throughout the county.
One such activity was a feature football match which was played between a combined Teacher’s team and the Hearts of Oak Masters Football Club of New Amsterdam.
The game, which was played on Friday under lights at the All Saints Scot Church ground in New Amsterdam, saw Hearts of Oak Maters teaching the Teachers a few lesions to squeeze home victors 3-2.
Scoring for Heads of Oaks Masters were Bryan “Rastaman” Ralph with a double, while Kurt Alphonso netted the other one. Responding for the Teachers were Rocky Hutson and Colin Bowry with one each.
