A police officer was placed on self bail for unlawfully wounding his neighbour. The accused, Cedric Dash, reportedly wounded his neighbour Burton Carmichael on Tuesday; last, after they had a disagreement.
Carmichael pleaded not guilty to the charge.
According to reports, Carmichael met Dash while he was on his way home and they had a misunderstanding which led to a fight. Both parties sustained injuries in the process.
A medical certificate revealed that Dash who sustained minor injuries was treated and sent home while Carmichael’s injuries caused him to be hospitalised.
Dash was subsequently charged with the offence. He was admitted to self bail when he faced Chief Magistrate Priya Sewnarine-Beharry at the Georgetown Magistrates’ Court yesterday. His next court date is October 2.
