Several persons have become lucky, winning various prizes when the drawing of the raffle organized by the Guyana Association of Scrabble Players (G.A.S.P) took place on the 25th August last.
The proceeds from the raffle assisted G.A.S.P in successfully hosting the recently concluded Caribbean Scrabble Championships over the period August 23rd to 25th. Trinidad and Tobago retained the trophy while Guyana finished in the second placet. Barbados ended up in the cellar.
The raffle was drawn at the closing ceremony of the tournament at the Bank of Guyana Sports Club and was witnessed by a representative of Ram and Mc Rae Chartered Accountants.
The first prize of a pair of Nike Sunglasses by Kings Jewellery World was won by Claudine Collins, while Marlyn Cameron clinched the second prize of one digital camera donated by Gizmos & Gadgets. Cell Phone Shack had donated the 3rd place prize of one cellular phone and it was won by Curtis Vaughn.
The other three prizes were won by Nicholai Latchana (Food Hamper by Survival Supermarket), Dr. S. Mangru (Dinner for 2 by Windjammer Restaurant) and Chris Chapwanya (Wall clock donated by the Chichester family).
The organizers wish to congratulate the various winners even as they express gratitude to all participants as well as the members of the corporate community that were instrumental in the success of the venture.
