Young Warriors and Rose Hall Town Bakewell booked their places in the semifinals of the 2011 New Building Society Second Division 40-over cricket competition being contested in the ancient County.
The two clubs have joined No.70 Young Stars and Albion Community Centre in the semifinals.
Playing at the Cumberland Ground, Canje, Young Warriors defeated Courtland All Stars by 26 runs. Winning the toss and batting first, Young Warriors managed 171 for 9 in their 40 overs; former Guyana Under-15 batsman Sanjay Khan led with 47*, Mortimer Fraser 31 and Hubern Evans 23.
Bowling for Courtland, Timothy McDonald took 3 for 23, Travis Williams, 2 for 16 and Eon Gibson 2 for 18.
When Courtland All Star replied, they lost early wickets to be 68 for 6 before John Percival (33) and Timothy McDonald put on 64 between them but after they both departed, Courtland All Star fell for 145 in 30.2 overs.
Bowling for Young Warriors, former Anil Beharry took 3 for 21, Berbice Under-17 pacer Suresh Dhanai, 2 for 6, Kawal Mangal 2 for 14 and Hubern Evans 2 for 17.
Over at the Rose Hall Town Ground, Rose Hall Town Bakewell got past No.71 by 3 wickets. Winning the toss and batting first, Rose Hall Town Bakewell posted 183 for 7 in their 40 overs; Jason Sinclair hitting 71, Ravi Narine 27 and Eon Hooper 23.
Bowling for No.71, Shiraz Khan took 2 for 27 and Trishan Ramdass 2 for 35. No.71 in reply were bundled out for 90 in 28.3 overs; Deoprakash Ramdat made 16. Bowling for Rose Hall Town, Guyana Under-17 all rounder Arif Chan grabbed 4 for 20 and Eon Hooper 4 for 19.
