The father of two who met his demise on the Mon Repos, East Coast of Demerara (ECD) public road, after a pickup slammed into his cycle while he was returning home with his four-year-old son Wednesday evening, was laid to rest yesterday at Good Hope Cemetery.
Post mortem results revealed multiple injuries to the body. The driver of the pick-up was placed
on bail by the court on Friday last.
The victim, said to be a carpenter, was identified as 29-year-old Rajendra Sugrim, called Navin, of 61 North Mon Repos, ECD.
His son, Lakeram Sugrim, known as Krishna, is a patient in the Pediatric Ward of the Georgetown Public Hospital Corporation (GPHC.)
Relatives said the boy sustained injuries to the head and abrasions.
According to reports, the accident occurred at 18:30hrs Wednesday evening. The driver of the white pick-up (PMM 607), was heading towards the city when he collided with the cyclist, killing the man and injuring his son.
