– AFC Chairman
Alliance for Change Chairman, Nigel Hughes, is not disappointed with the “committed disciples” of the National Communications Network (NCN) for their reporting on the corruption debate series as they are merely being consistent.
At the time Hughes was responding to questions from members of the media about the network’s coverage on the debate series.
Hughes believed that the series is as if Judas Iscariot is hosting a television series on friendship and loyalty.
“NCN from its inception has never delivered unbiased and unfiltered information to the public. They have not discharged their mandate to the people of this country to educate so I’m not disappointed in the coverage of the debate, as a matter of fact I applaud them for their consistency,” a caustic Hughes noted.
The Chairman added that if one decides to go to a television show with Judas Iscariot he should not expect a lesson or morality.
“In this case one will have to pray to God that he won’t slap you in the back because the only thing you would get is a knife.”
Hughes said when himself and others from the AFC took the decision to go to the debate they were all aware it would have been like going to Freedom House to have a debate.
“Going to the debate is as if you go to a person with no legs and put him to run against Usain Bolt and complain that he doesn’t make it to the finish line.”
Over recent weeks, NCN has started a live television series on different topics for debate as it regards corruption.
Some parts of the debates are then used by the network’s new team to create new items for a newscast, all in favor of the government. It was the same thing for the state-owned Government Information News Agency (GINA).
