Rudolph Mitchell has dominated the local racewalk scene and despite the efforts of other top walkers, continues to distinguish himself among the lot.
The prolific athlete has so far compiled an unbeaten record of 118 victories on the trot and will be out to improve that figure when the Cavalier Sports and Tour Club (CS&TC) stages the CARICOM Day race on Monday July 2 next.
The race is expected to attract the local cream of the crop and gets underway at the Plaisance Market, Railway Embankment ECD and proceeds west to the Caricom headquarters, Liliendaal ECD.
A release from the CS&TC informs that members of the Caricom Secretariat will also participate in the race. Participants are asked to convene at the starting line at 06:00hrs for a prompt start half an hour later.
Once again, walkers will vie for prizes donated by members of the business community including trophies and medals.
