Dear Editor,
While I would be the first to acknowledge that the Guyana Water Incorporated has, during the last couple of years, done some amount of work in Region Two (Pomeroon / Supenaam), it can also be said that the billing system needs to be improved, and the company can have more competent persons (linesmen) in the field. Many persons (myself included), mostly old age pensioners, are receiving bills that we feel are not correct in keeping with the amount of water we use, and although many visits were made to the Local Office at Anna Regina, and assurances were given to us to have the meters read and not estimated, the bills that we are receiving are highly questionable.
While the quality of water needs to be improved, the queries that consumers make need to be urgently addressed.
