FC Bazilio and Hearts of Oak Football Club advanced to the semi-finals of the Corriverton Links FC inaugural Links Challenge Cup U15 football tournament with victories over NA United FC and Rosignol United FC respectively.
Hearts of Oak and Rosignol United played to a 1 – 1 draw at full time, Gangoo scoring for Rosignol and a defence error evening the score for Hearts of Oak. In the penalty shoot-out, good goalkeeping saw Hearts of Oak home.
In similar fashion, FC Bazilio and NA United played to a 1-1 draw through goals from Cordell Nicholson and Jamal Butts respectively, FC Bazilio won the penalty shoot-out 4 – 2 and move on to the next round.
The Tournament continues and ends on July 2nd at the Skeldon Community Centre Ground from 10:00am where Scottsburg FC take on Hearts of Oak FC and Corriverton Links FC take on Competition favourite FC Bazilio in the semi-finals. At 12.20pm, Orealla Female Football team plays a Berbice Football Association select team.
The 3rd place play-off starts at 2:00pm with the final kicking off at 4:00pm. The presentation of prizes will follow at 5:30pm concluding the month long tournament.
