Thrilling matches anticipated as top teams throw down gauntlet
Uitvlugt Warriors FC will clash with Wales FC in the feature attraction while Young Achievers FC will throw down the gauntlet in the supporting match against Den Amstel FC when action in the West Demerara Football Association / Stag Beer 2012 Senior League continues at the Den Amstel Community Center Ground this afternoon.
The tournament commenced on June 3 last and fans have been entertained with several action packed matches that have served as the indicator of the impending thrilling encounters. Six games have been played thus far and already Den Amstel has assumed the lead, amassing 6 points from 2 games to remain unbeaten.
Seawall FC and Uitvlugt Warriors follow closely on 3 points apiece but the latter team holds the edge by dint of having played just one game to 2 played by the former. Stewartville currently resides in the doghouse with no points after losing both of their games.
Several notable players will be in action today including the strike force of Dillon Lanferman and Jamal Hardy while other notable players that will grace the field include Jamal Petty and veteran Orville Bobb, a former National defender.
The action continues tomorrow night when newcomers Nimnes/Bagotsville clashes with Eagles from Stewartville, followed by the feature attraction between Beavers FC of Goed Fortune against Stewartville FC. Tomorrow evening’s matches will be played at 16:00hrs and 18:00hrs respectively. Admission price is $300.
