Motherhood has been foisted on a 12-year-old who gave birth to her stepfather’s child at the Georgetown Public Hospital Corporation (GPHC) on Thursday, last.
The baby boy, who was delivered by caesarian section, has since been placed in an incubator. The juvenile mother is in stable condition.
Reports are that the girl was repeatedly raped by the man since she was10-years-old. She became pregnant last August, shortly after her menstrual cycle began at age 11.
Kaieteur News understands that the culprit hails from the North West District and moved into the young girl’s Berbice home about two years ago. This is when the sexual abuse began.
Her stepfather, who is a cane cutter, would threaten to use his cutlass on her if she told anyone about his actions.
A source told Kaieteur News that teachers at the girl’s Primary School observed her being consistently nauseous during morning assemblies and informed the Schools’ Welfare Department.
Investigations began and in January 2012 and she was taken to the Fort Wellington Hospital for a medical examination. There it was revealed that the girl was five months pregnant.
Upon being questioned repeatedly, the girl told authorities that it was her stepfather who raped her and that the baby was his.
When approached, the alleged perpetrator denied such allegations and said he never touched the child inappropriately.
He was subsequently locked up at one of the police stations in Berbice and is said to still be in police custody.
Meanwhile, maternal relatives of the child notified her mother that the man had also raped their daughter a few years prior to this incident. At that time the other girl was nine years old.

…and yet another case of a stupid mother putting her young girl in the arms of a preditor – and another stepfather/boyfriend rapes and impregnants a child. The mothers should be locked up too! After all they are the real problems of these sexual abuse stories how many mothers are blind that right now her husband is raping and having sex with her young her of 5 or 12 at home.?
