The NSC Independence Junior Badminton Tournament concluded on Monday at the Queens College Badminton Courts with the Under-19 Boys Singles Finals which saw National Under-15 & 17 Champion & Under-15 Caribbean Champion Narayan Ramdhani up against National U-19 Player Avinash Odit.
The Finals which went to a three setter was trilling and nerve racking with both players playing attacking and defensive shots, with quick drops and smashes to win points.
Narayan Ramdhani won the first game at 21-19 and then Avinash Odit won the second game at 20-22. Narayan Ramdhani then took control of the third game winning 21-14 to become the Top Male Junior Player in Guyana, while Greer Jackson was crowned the Top Female Junior Player. The Presentation was done by President of the Association, Gokarn Ramdhani on behalf of the NSC to the Winners and Runner-Ups.

Under-11 Boys Singles: 1st Place – Elan Rahaman
2nd Place – Christopher Killkelly
Under-11 Girls Singles: 1st Place – Priyanna Ramdhani
2nd Place – Ria Persram
Under-13 Boys Singles: 1st Place – Omari Joseph
2nd Place – Shane Shewjattan
Under-13 Girls Singles: 1st Place – Priyanna Ramdhani
2nd Place – Kara Abrams
Under-17 Boys Singles: 1st Place – Narayan Ramdhani
2nd Place – Noel Shewjattan
Under-19 Boys Singles: 1st Place – Narayan Ramdhani
2nd Place – Avinash Odit
The GBA would like to thank the National Sports Commission for making this tournament possible. The Most Improved Player Trophies was awarded to U-15 Players Jonathan Mangra & Ambika Ramraj.
