On May 14, Stella’s Sisterhood of Support & Service Foundation (S4 Foundation) held the organisation’s first board meeting, which culminated in the selection of eight board members to include: Karen Abrams, Janick Arioon, Susanna Jamal, Ena Ramsaroop, Stella Ramsaroop, Iana Seales, Varshnie Singh and Oluatoyin Samantha Alleyene-Williams.
Stella Ramsaroop, founder of the S4 Foundation, was elected Executive Chairperson of the Board, and Janick Arioon was elected Vice-Chairperson.
“I am very excited about this opportunity to work with such a dynamic group of women. Each one of the S4 board members is a leader in her own right and we share the same passion for helping and supporting women,” Ramsaroop said.
“If ever there was a team that epitomized the S4 Foundation motto, ‘Sisters helping Sisters,’ this is it.”
The board meeting also included discussion of future endeavours. During the next six months, the S4 Foundation will continue to work on several projects that have been started since the organisation’s inception in January. Additional project work will continue once the foundation’s D’Urban Street office officially opens after renovations are complete in a matter of weeks.
