On the 2nd & 3rd June 2012, Signature Productions will be featuring the third annual edition of UNCENSORED, the brain child of Lyndon ‘Jumbie’ Jones. UNCENSORED is a stand-up comedy production showcasing Guyana’s premiere veteran comedians along with the rising stars.
Since its debut two years ago, UNCENSORED has been an eagerly anticipated event triggering overwhelming responses from the public and breaking the box office record at the National Cultural Centre by being the first show to sell out days in advance.
This year UNCENSORED will be running for two nights. The first night will feature the competition between the junior comedians and the second night will be comprised of the heavyweights along with the top three winners of the competition.
The competitors are Miranda Austin, Kirwyn Mars (winner of last year’s competition), Odessa Primus, Chubby and Chris Gopaul along with newcomers Leza Singh and Kwasi Edmondson. The veteran featured comedians will be Lyndon ‘Jumbie’ Jones, Henry Rodney and Habeeb Khan.
Tickets for this event are $800, $1500 and $2000 and can be located at Giftland OfficeMAX, Nigel’s Supermarket, Payless Variety Store, Elegance Jewellery & Pawn Shop and the National Cultural Centre.
The prizes will include a video camera sponsored by Giftland OficeMAX, a gold chain sponsored by Elegance Jewellery and a Blackberry cell phone sponsored by Cellular Plus. Payless Variety and Upscale Restaurant & Sports Bar are also sponsors of UNCENSORED.
Meanwhile, Signature Productions will be hosting a press conference featuring the comedians and producers of UNCENSORED III this morning from 10:00 hrs at the Upscale Restaurant & Sports Bar on Hincks Street.
