The PPP intended all along to use the budget to call a snap election

DEAR EDITOR,
The PPP is a decrepit political organization. It thinks hegemony and acts depravity. The PPP does not view politics from the pulpit of honesty, decency, transparency, accountability and openness with the public and its supporters. The PPP made an early decision to use the budget as a tool to force an early election. Its supporters should beware, as they are about to be used as pawns for this Stalinist group running the party to solidify their power.
The PPP’s idea was to fool the public and moreso fool its supporters.
Let us expose the PPP here. Remember the opposition asking the ruling party to participate in the budget preparation. Remember the PPP rejecting the opposition. The opposition told the PPP even before it prepared the budget that it had problems with the funding for GINA and NCN and that it (the opposition) would not allow the LCDS expenditure since the PPP is spending money it does not have and that the Guyanese people don’t spend money they don’t have so why should the PPP be allowed to do so.
The opposition has stated it will restore the LCDS funding when the PPP proves it has the money to spend. Therefore, the PPP is seeking to force an election over NCN and GINA. That is it in a nutshell.  The majority of PPP supporters do not care about NCN or GINA. NCN is a profitable agency and has stated it will not lose jobs. GINA lost a handful of jobs. Some of these people will be employed at other media houses once new media licences are granted. Again, no real permanent loss of jobs. Yet, the PPP is trying to call an election over this.
Who in their right mind calls an election over no permanent jobs lost and for its right to spend billions on LCDS it does not have in its hands and has no realistic chance of collecting based on history? What political party would call an election over such non-issues? To add insult to the stupidity of the PPP, the opposition has publicly guaranteed to restore the LCDS funding if the PPP could prove it will get the funds. There is really no issue over the budget, none.
So why did the PPP play this filthy game of behaving as if the world ended when the budget was cut? Because the PPP intended all along to use the budget process to call a snap election. The PPP wanted to call a new election on November 29, 2011, the day after the election. This despotic bunch of PPP leaders believes complete power is its God-given right. This was part of its plan. This cabal that has usurped the PPP and denied its supporters and membership democracy and the right to choose their leadership has no respect for democracy and the wishes of the people. It does not want the power the people gave it on November 28, 2011. It wants all the power, absolute power and maximum power. The PPP intended to polarize the nation over the budget and to politically divide and conquer. The PPP genuinely believed it could politically benefit from the budget fallout which it created. The plan was to con its followers to support it in a new election by crying wolf and weeping crocodile tears claiming how the opposition is attacking it. The PPP exposed itself. The childish games will not work.
Only the PPP would try to sink this country into another election over the opposition demanding greater accountability, transparency, living within your means and fiscal restraint. Guyanese flee to countries every day that practice these virtues. The PPP’s leaders are really afraid of what NICIL will reveal once it is exposed. They want to desperately call an election and hope to fool enough people to get that majority to prevent NICIL’s books from being opened.
Is this how these chaps really think of the Guyanese people and of the party’s supporters? Is this the insulting view they have of those who religiously vote for them? Are their supporters nothing but cattle, chattels and objects to them? Do they care about the people? Do they know their own supporters, who demand transparency and accountability in their own family budgets, want the same from the PPP government? More power to thieves will rob us blind leaving us with nothing. Choose your conscience over the corrupt.
