The Ministry of Housing and Water is condemning what it says are the
recent acts of wanton destruction that seek to retard efforts to enhance and develop Parliament Square.
According to a statement from the Ministry, unknown persons have been stealing the newly planted shrubs from the location. The beautification phase of the project is now in progress, with the cultivation of plants and shrubbery.
“The Housing Ministry would like the general public to know that plans are currently being executed to develop this location, west of the Saint Stanislaus College, between Brickdam and Hadfield Street (Site of the former Bureau of Statistics Building), into an urban park. The Site is known as Parliament Square, in keeping with its proximity to the historic Parliament Buildings.”
