Following are the results in the Canje & New Amsterdam Zones MCYS/NSC, GT&T & ASTP played at the Welfare Centre Ground Canje in the 15th Annual Regional Primary Schools Windball Championships.
Canje Zone – Girls:
Bohemia beat Cumberland by 8 wickets. Cumberland made 29-2, with Manesha Samaroo 10, Nathanya Baker picked up 3 wickets. Bohemia replied with 30-2, Baker 11.
Betsy Ground defeated Sheet Anchor by 9 wickets. Sheet Anchor 31-1. Besty Ground 33-1, Marsha La Fleur 11. Bohemia & Betsy Ground to battle in the finals.
Boys:
Cumberland rolled past Gangaram by 1 wicket.
Sheet Anchor 31-1. Gangaram 38-2, Kumar Atmaram 12, Vickram Barran 10.
Cumberland 40-9, Alex Davis 12, Alex Algoo 10. Arvin Persaud picked up the first hat-trick in this year programme, taking a total of 5wickets, while Devendra Ramkishum supported with 2wickets.
New Amsterdam Zone – Girls:
Overwinning beat St. Therese by 8 runs. Overwinning 29-3, Kaaya Gomes 12. St. Therese 21-0.
St. Aloysius eased to a comfortable 9-wicket win over Edinburgh. Edinburgh 31-2, Teeyana Forde 10. Saint Aloysius 32-1, Jada De Jonge 14.
Boys:
St. Aloysius cruised to a 10-wicket triumph over debutant, School of the Nations.
School of the Nations 38-2, Shavar Henry 12. St. Aloysius 39-0 Joshua Wilson 15, Shane Hamilton 10.
St. Therese beat All Saints by 18 runs. St. Therese 50-1, Joshua Hinds 25, Troy Munroe 10. All Saints replied with 32-3, Lamar Reid 11.
Play returns to the Welfare Centre Ground on May 22.
Meanwhile, play in the tournament continues on May 9 (Wednesday) in the Central Corentyne-Black Bush Polder Zones, May 10- Lower Corentyne at Albion Sports Complex and May 11- Upper Corentyne Zone at Skeldon Community Centre Ground.
