Dear Editor,
I have been observing the Government sponsored protest action which seeks to make the Opposition look like Dracula trying to suck the life-blood from these poor 38 workers.
Missing from the event were the rubber bullets, the vehicle loads of police in full battle gear and the water cannon lest things had gotten out of hand.
Maths was never my favourite subject but I am sure that I got this one right.
Where were the candle bearers and spokespersons when the Guyana Airways Corporation was shut leaving in excess of 500 workers jobless?
Wasn’t it this same Government that for no plausible reason took bread out of those workers’ mouths? Multiply the 500 odd by an average five per family – what figure do we have that were rendered hungry?
When Mr. Sharma’s TV station was shut down there were workers who suffered too. When Government removed all their ads from both the Stabroek and Kaieteur News were their intentions good for the working class?
Maybe it just required candles for the few workers who are being paraded as the ‘affected’. Why are the powers so conveniently caring?
But then, we know who would truly be affected by the Budget cuts to NCN, don’t we? The hidden employees who work so tirelessly to produce the full color product.
