In an effort to rid the Stabroek Market of unsavoury elements, the Guyana
Police Force carried out yet another raid. Several men were reportedly arrested as ranks searched stall holders and other persons who were in the vicinity. The police also swooped down on America Street as part of the operation. This newspaper was told the officers were looking for guns and ammunition and drugs. It is unclear if anything illegal was unearthed.
