This year’s Linden segment of the Guinness ‘Greatest of the Streets’ Futsal Football Competition has reached the Round-of-16 which will be played tomorrow, at the Wisroc / Amelia’s Ward Bus Park (in front of the Mackenzie Market), starting from 18:30 hrs.
The fixtures are as follows:
Coomacka United takes on Rough & Rugged and that will be followed by the clash between Pokerburg and Goal Getters. Following that game, Top Class square off against Retrieve Unknowns, before Train Line Warriors tackles Pepper Skull and Amelia’s Ward Russians and Amazing take to the court shortly after.
Sheriff Squad and El Dorado battle in the next game, before Star Boyz and Hard Knocks engage each other for a quarter-final spot and in the final encounter of the night, ½ Mile/ 1 Mile clash with Classic Six.
Meanwhile, in recent action, Top Class edged $100 Cars1-0 with S. Noel scoring in the 11th minute. Game 2 – Exodus gained victory by walk over from Constab Warriors.
Game 3 – Classic Six squeezed past Cherokee Park 3-2. Scoring for the winners were C. Need 5th min, R. Matthews 14th minute, M. Ramsey 16th minute. Cherokee Park got their goals off the boots of T. Smith 2nd minute and N. Akbar 10th minute.
Game 4 – Hard Knocks hammered Attackers 3-0. Ray Bob Semple netted a double in the 11th and 20th minute while R. Bristol added the other in the13th.
Game 5 – South Stars beat Speightland 1-0. J. Batson was the player on target for the winners.
Game 6 – Sheriff Squad defeated Barsenal 1-0. C. Davis netted the lone goal in the 4th minute.
Game 7 – Street Vybz and Pepper Skull played to a 1-1 stalemate. M. Wilson scored for Street Vybz, while D. Williams responded for Pepper Skull. The final game between Scheme and Wisroc did not come off.
