One woman is in police custody after she was intercepted at the Ogle International Airport on Friday afternoon, attempting to smuggle 80 pieces of ecstasy to an interior location.
This publication was told that the woman was about to board an Air Services Limited flight for an interior location which was not disclosed when the illegal tablets were detected in her bag. At the time the woman was having her luggage searched by airport officials.
Members of the Police Anti Narcotics Branch were called in and as a result the woman was detained and the substance tested and proven to be the illegal substance. She remains in police custody assisting with investigations.
Charges are likely to be laid shortly.
