The Guyana Karate Association (GKA) has formed a New York Chapter.
The New York arm of the GKA was formed to develop and advance Guyana karate in New York. They will be following the guidelines of the Florida chapter.
The New York chapter is under the guidance of Vincent Kum, Kumar Ramkirath and Paul Inderjit. They have been in karate over twenty-five years each and are students of Sensei Darryl Williams. All three will be representing Guyana at the World United Karate Organization (WUKO) Caribbean Cup to take place in Trinidad and Tobago in September, 2012.
They will also be working with the New York-Guyanese business community to seek assistance to provide karate uniforms and protective equipment for the GKA. The GKA-New York Dojo will be opening soon.

The GKA occupies membership in World United Karate Organization (WUKO) the United States Specialty Sports Association (USSSA) Karate Programme and the Trinidad and Tobago Karate Federation (TTKF).
