Fans of body building and fitness are in for what is anticipated to be a great
treat when the Banks Malta Supreme / Guyana Amateur Body Building & Fitness Federation (GABBFF) 2012 Novice & Intermediate Championships comes off this evening at the Theatre Guild, Parade Street, Kingston.
Female competitors will vie for supremacy in the Miss Fitness Open (over two rounds) and Miss Body Fitness (over two rounds) while the male competitors will flex muscles in the Junior Category (Under-21), Bantamweight (65kg – 123 lbs), Lightweight (70kg – 144 lbs), Welterweight (75kg – 155 lbs), Light Middleweight (80kg – 166 lbs) and Heavyweight (177 & over). There will also be a Masters category featuring athletes who are over the age of 40.
Apart from male and female competition, fans will be for a special treat when Guest Poser Mark ‘Uno’ Perry takes the stage.
Perry is no stranger to the body building stage in Guyana having won the Mr. Guyana (2008) title as well as the inaugural Hugh Ross Classic.
The weigh-in is set for 10:00hrs to 14:00hrs today at the competition venue with an athlete’s meeting scheduled for 17:30hrs. Doors will be opened at 18:00hrs with competition starting one hour later.
Fans are being encouraged to come out and enjoy a good evening of competitive body building.
