After nine years in the sport of judo, top local heavyweight and former national silver medallist
Anthony Girdhari of the Rising Sun Judo dojo (Marian Academy) was recently promoted to the rank of Shodan (1st Dan) by Rokkudan Charles Ambrose (6th Dan) at the Rising Sun dojo.
Mr. Ambrose pointed out that he was impressed with the progress Girdhari has made in the last three years and his promotion was inevitable. Moreover, with this promotion Girdhari has also elevated his status within his club to that of assistant instructor.
