Secondary School $1M break-in…Students released into parents’ custody

The six students charged with a break-in at the Annandale Secondary School over the weekend were yesterday released into the custody of their parents after pleading not guilty.
The students appeared before Magistrate Alex Moore, at the Sparendaam Magistrate’s Court after they were placed in police custody and charged in relation to the $1M break in at the Secondary School.
Many were left surprised at the court’s decision yesterday, given that all of the missing items were recovered in their possession.
Reports are that on Saturday, last, between 11:00 hrs and 13:00 hrs the robbery took place and the students were alleged to be the ones that had unlawfully gained entry into the Secondary School and removed the items.
They allegedly stole some cash which was kept in the school, Central Processing Unit (CPU) along with other computer accessories such as keyboards and an Uninterrupted Power Supply (UPS) unit among other items.
The six are set to return to court tomorrow, before Magistrate Nyasha Hatmin at Vigilance.
