Six students are currently in police custody after admitting to breaking and entering the Annandale Secondary School, East Coast Demerara (ECD) on Saturday last and stealing items from the Information Technology Department costing almost $1M.
Kaieteur News understands that four of these students attend the Bladen Hall Secondary, also located on the ECD, while the other two belong to the Annandale Secondary.
Reports are that between 11:00 hr and 13:00 hr on the day in question, the robbery took place.
The students stole some computers, keyboards, back-up systems, mouses, a projector, a stabiliser and some cash which were in the school.
It is unclear as to how the students were identified as the culprits. However, police ranks conducted their investigations and recovered all of the stolen items which were said to be in the students’ possession.
This newspaper was further told that two more students are likely to be arrested and all of them are expected to be charged today.
