With race day finally here thousands of horseracing fans and followers are expected to flock the Ryan Crawford Memorial Turf Club and Sports Facilities (RCMTC&SF) at Alness Corentyne Berbice today. The venue will be the centre of activity as the club stages yet another one day fund raising meet in collaboration with the Phoenix and Ituni Lodges.
Some 50 horses have s now entered for the days’ action, with bugle time expected to be at 13:00hrs. Banks DIH Limited, Attorney at Law Rajendra Poonai, Omai Transportation, Delmur Company and Trophy Stall Bourda Market are some of the top sponsors so far.
Beverage Giants Banks DIH Limited takes charge of the Feature E and Lower event in which a top notch field has been entered, among them are Dubai Duchess, Work Force, Bridal Stone Corner, Miracle Run and the recently imported The Bangor Barron running out of the Elcock stable. The 1400M event has as it first prize of $250,000 and the Banks DIH trophy.
Animals such as Face the Music, Gold Plated, Miracle Run, Work Force, Bridal Stone Corner, Spanish Love, Funny Sided and Northern Dancer, Pleasant Surprise and Stormy Deal will be looking to clinch the deal in the G & Lower 1400 M event for the $180,000 top prize and trophy compliments of Eureka Lab and The RCMTC&SF.
The H & Lower 1400 M will see the likes of Funny Sided, De Gump, Savion and Sun Razor blazing the trail for the winning money of $140,000 and trophy The RCMTC and Eureka Lab.
The I2 and lower 1300M race compliments of Delmur Company Limited with trophy by the Phoenix and Ituni Lodges will see the likes of Silver Kid, Bounty Flyer, Sun Razor, De Gump, Mona Lisa, Apostle and Speed Vision matching speed for the $110,000 top money.
P&P syndicate takes charge of the I3 and J and K event which has been merged for a top money of $100,000 over 1400M and has the likes of Golden Reprise, Speed Vision, Northern Junior, Lady Secret, Silver Kid and Lucky Gamble.
The event for L class animals has been sponsored By Dequan trading and Shipping and Martin Singh Trophy over 1300M with Windy Killer, Author, Simba, Bright Light, Arise, Prince Baya and Lady secret the top entries.
Top individual performers including champion and runner up Jockeys, top stable and trainers will be presented with accolades compliments of Businessman Ramesh Sunich of the Trophy Stall Bourda Market and the Ryan Crawford Memorial Turf Club and Sports Facilities.
All proceeds of the race meet will go strictly to charity.
The venue is in the best of condition at the moment and with the track being classified as the best in the country, an action pack and exhilarating day of racing is anticipated.
