After two dozen reports of fraud were made to the Alberttown Police Station recently against a popular cell phone dealer, recently, the victims are calling on the Police to institute charges.
The victims in their police report disclosed that the proprietor of GSM-Unlock, Mario Culpepper, has been accepting various high-end phones and laptops but would later resell these items then give the respective owners various excuses.
GSM-Unlock when visited at 209 E 1/2 Charlotte Street was closed with a sign marked “Sorry we are closed until further notice”. The proprietor would not answer his cell phone for a comment pertaining to the allegations.
“This man has a gambling problem and is always at the Casino. I carried a new I-phone 4 valued at US$800 recently and this man never answers my calls or replies to my text messages. When you visit his business there is a sign saying that it is closed,” one irate victim said.
It was further explained that clients visited Culpepper father’s establishment which deals with electronics and is located on South Road, however, family members were reluctant to disclose his whereabouts.
Other victims related that they were even given bounced checks and were duped into servicing and unlocking various phones without receiving their full payments.
GSM-Unlock was created in 2004 and offers services in unlocking and upgrading of Cell phone software and also wholesale cell phones.
