A 41-year-old North Ruimveldt man was shot in his left arm Monday night and there are now questions whether the nearby police outpost that was commissioned last Friday is serving its purpose.
Injured is Gregory Beckles. The incident is believed to have occurred around 23:00 hrs.
According to a police release, Beckles was about to enter his home when he was confronted by two men, one of whom shot him. The men fled shortly after.
He was rushed to the Georgetown Public Hospital Corporation (GPHC) where he was treated and subsequently discharged.
Up to late yesterday, no arrests were made and the police were still trying to locate Beckles to ascertain the events that led to the shooting.
