Two of Guyana’s powerlifters selected to represent the country at the 6th IPF / NAPF Caribbean Championships, which runs from March 28-31 in the USVI, were the recipients of support compliments of Windjammer International Cuisine & Comfort Inn of Queen Street, Kitty.
Manager of Windjammer International Cuisine & Comfort Inn Carey Griffith hands over the cheque to Germaine Snagg in the presence of Karel Mars on Thursday afternoon.
Manager of the entity Carey Griffith, who is the current Super Bike amateur champion, made the presentation of a cheque for an undisclosed sum to Karel Mars and Germaine Snagg on Thursday afternoon at the business location.
Griffith in his brief remarks said that as a sportsman he knows the importance of athletes getting support from the business community and when he was approached he had no hesitation in offering his assistance to the two athletes who according to him will make Guyana proud during the competition.
“These guys are very good and I’m confident that they will equip themselves very well for Guyana at the championship and ensure that we win the overall title through their own individual performances,” Griffith told this newspaper.
The two recipients in their response thanked the sponsor for his generosity and promised to do their best to justify the support.
