Local companies and individuals advertising their goods and services could do so online at www.gxsellit.com.
This website was launched on March 16 to offer companies and individuals the opportunity to harness the marketing power of the internet to reach consumers.
According to Girendra Persaud, Founder of GxSellit.com, during an interview yesterday, a similar version of the website was launched last year but following a research it was revised and is now more user-friendly.
Persaud emphasised that the website is simple to apply. He noted that it utilises similar technologies of www.facebook.com; www.pinterest.com; and www.chill.com.
“The service is free and is implemented in a new eye-catching way to display content on the internet. Anybody could register and post items in any of the major categories such as items for sale; and ‘shout out’- a special category for posting notices or job vacancies,” he noted.
He said that items are also placed in subcategories with associated keywords to allow potential customers to easily find what they are looking for. In addition, once an item is posted, it could be shared to potential customers via social networks. Email and placing the GX Number of the advertisement is another advertising mode.
The website has a strict plan in place to prevent bogus advertisements. Persaud explained that every advertisement placed has a report option, which allows customers to select a category of its violation and a comment has to be made.
He further explained that after 10 complaints are made against one ad it automatically comes down and the company or individual is sent a notice. Once the advertisement is proven to be true it would be replaced.
However, the persons making the bogus claim could be identified since every user has to be registered and the email address must be verified.
Persaud said that the service is like the popular craiglist.com but gives customers a more trendy and stylish way to market.
He asserted, “When a person signs up he or she is given five free credits, providing the customer the chance to make up to five active posts at anytime. If necessary, the individual could purchase additional posts.”
Persaud said credit costs US$5 per annum and can be purchased in bulk. Discounts are available for purchase of 50 and more credits. Payments for additional credit could be made online via PayPal or MoneyBookers or by contacting the founders of the website.
