Over 40 entered so far
With entries set to close today, a number of horses have already been entered for the Ryan Crawford Memorial Turf Club and Sports Facilities (RCMTC&SF) in collaboration with the Phoenix and Ituni Lodges grand one day Fund raising Horserace meet slated for next Sunday, 25th March at the Alness Corentyne, Berbice racetrack.
Over 40 entries have been received so far and a number of other owners have indicated their willingness to be a part of the Fund Raising Charity programme. Among the entries received so far and expected to participate are: Face the Music, Dubai Duchess, Work Force, Delmur Gold, Savion, Celebration Time, Bridal Stone Corner, Bounty Flyer, Golden Reprise, Mona Lisa, Silver Kid, Windy Killer, Autar, Simba, Speed Vision, Northern dancer, Gold Plated, Bright Light, Northern Junior, Lucky Gamble And Sun Raiser among others.
Eight races are listed on the day’s cards with the E and lower event slated to be the top race on the day’s programme. The 1400M event has as it first prize $250,000 and trophy at stake.
The other events listed are the G & Lower category 1400M with a winning purse of $180,000 and trophy.
The 3yrs old race for Guyana Bred Horses over 1300M for a top prize of $175,000 and trophy.
The H & Lower 1400 M races with winnings set at $140,000 and trophy. The I2 and lower race has a winning purse of $110,000 and is a 1300M event. There is a race for I3 horses that won one race for a pole position takings of $100,000 over 1400M.
The J and K class horses will gallop over a distance of 1300M for their winning take of $90,000.
The final event is for horses classified L and lower which has a winning purse of $70,000 with the distance also being 1300M.
Banks DIH Limited and Trophy Stall, Bourda Market are some of the top sponsors so far. Top individual performers including champion and runner up Jockeys, top stable and trainers will be presented with accolades compliments of Businessman Ramesh Sunich of the Trophy Stall, Bourda Market and the Ryan Crawford Memorial Turf Club and Sports Facilities.
All proceeds of the race meet will go strictly to charity.
The races are run under the Guyana Horse Racing Rules and some of the conditions which the activity will be held under are. All Horses taking part in any race meeting prior to this one are subject to re-classification. The Club reserves the right to cancel, re-frame or re-arrange the order of any of the races after entries are closed with the consent of owners of the horses entered.
Race time is 13:00hrs.
