Race walkers would be kept busy for the next few weeks following the release of a packed itinerary by the Cavalier Sports and Tour Club (CS&TC). Activities get underway this morning when the walkers congregate at road head of Canal #2 Polder WBD for the start of the Cheddie Jagan Memorial Race Walk that culminates at the road end.
One week later, on March 25, the walkers will convene at the Soesdyke NDC office for the trek to the Police Outpost, Madewini and back to its place of origin.
The month long activities will end on Sunday April 1 when the racewalkers head to Bartica for an event dubbed ‘Bartica Race Walk 2012.’ The race gets underway at the Monument Site, First Avenue and culminates at the Bandstand.
Participants are urged to be at the starting line at 06:00hrs to facilitate a prompt start at 06:30hrs.
Once again, walkers will vie for prizes donated by members of the business community including trophies, medals and other prizes.
