Hand in Hand Group of Companies 40 overs Cricket Tournament for teams in West Berbic is scheduled to bowl off on Sunday, March 25, at eight venues across Region 5.
The tournament is one of several organised by the Berbice Cricket Board (BCB) in the West Berbice area this year in an effort to unearth new talent for the Ancient County.
Chairman of the Competitions Committee, Carl Moore, stated that 16 teams would be part of the knock-out tournament.
Teams are allowed to play only one First Division player who has played more than a combined three matches at the senior level in 2011 and 2012.
Under-17 players would not be considered First Division players according to Moore, who said the BCB is attempting to expose the younger players to a higher level of competition.
The fixtures for Sunday, March 25 are:
1.Achievers vs No. 4 at Lovely Lass Ground.
2. Hopetown vs Silver Star at Hopetown.
3. Woodley Park vs Shieldstown at Woodley Park.
4. D’Edward vs Bush at D’Edward
5. Blairmont ‘A’ vs Rainbow Generation at Blairmont.
6. Bath vs Rosignol at Bath.
7. Cotton Tree Die Hard vs Blairmont at Cotton Tree
8. Bush Lot Challengers vs Sundown at Bush Lot.
All matches starts at 11:00hrs and the BCB is informing all clubs that any team that gives a walk over would not be allowed to play in any other tournament organised by the Board.
