Seawall United beat Western Tigers in latest TUFC Mash Challenge Cup

A solitary strike by Clement Browne in the 85th minute enabled West Demerara’s Seawall FC a slim 1-0 victory over city side BK Int. Western Tigers in the feature match of a doubleheader in play in the Thomas United Football Club’s Mash Challenge Cup last Wednesday at the GFC ground, Bourda.
The curtain raiser saw Upper Demerara’s Bakewell Top XX and Dem Amstel played to an exciting 3-3 draw.
Meanwhile, in the latest action of the competition that was contested at the same venue the following day, City side Pele were forced on the offensive after trailing Milerock by a 0-1 margin, and secured a subsequent equalizer, enroute to a 1-1 draw at the end of regulation time. Play in the competition continues next Wednesday with two (2) matches at a venue to be decided, owing to some teams involvement in the GFF National League over the weekend. Over $1, 000, 000 in cash incentives, trophies, medals and individual prizes are at stake.
