Less than a week after his involvement in the two-vehicle accident at Land of Canaan, East Bank Demerara, Marvin Wray, the 27-year-old driver of the motorcar, succumbed to his injuries yesterday.
Wray of Beverly Close, South Ruimveldt Gardens, and the four passengers were in his car at the time of the accident on Sunday night.
Wray was admitted to the Georgetown Public Hospital with head injuries and his condition was at the time reportedly listed as critical. Wray’s sister was said to have been among the injured.
According to reports, Wray was heading north along the East Bank Demerara Public Road around 19:30 hrs when the driver of another vehicle exited a yard and drove into his path.
Wray swerved to avoid a collision, but still struck the other vehicle before slamming into a culvert. The vehicle then ended up in a nearby trench.
Kaieteur News understands that the other driver fled the scene. The injured were rushed to the East Bank Demerara Regional Hospital at Diamond.
Wray and a female were then taken by ambulance to the GPHC where they were admitted.
