Bandits attacked a driller of Nabi and Sons last night at Ogle, East Coast Demerara,
in what is believed to be a crime of opportunity.
According to an official of the construction company, three bandits who were armed with guns and a cutlass, escaped only with jewelry and some cash.
Badly gun-butted was Philmore Morren, a Trinidad who works with Nabi and Sons as a driller.
Kaieteur News was told that the robbers slipped into the three story home along Airport Road, Ogle, shortly after Morren arrived home from work.
The bandits beat the man and tied his wife up before escaping with the jewels and a little cash.
It is the believed that the bandits left with an “old car” and were not too familiar with the area as they headed into a dead end street before realizing their mistake.
Police later came and took statements from the couple before Morren was taken to the hospital for treatment of his injuries.
