Amir Khouri was elected President of the Guyana Karate Federation (GKF) when
the body held its Biennial General Meeting on Sunday at the Young Men’s Christian Association (YMCA) on Thomas Road, Thomas Lands.
Secretary General of the Guyana Olympic Association (GOA), Ivor O’Brien, presided as Returning Officer and affiliated associations that included the Guyana Japan Karate Association (GJKA), Japan Karate Association/World Federation-Guyana (JKA/WF-G), Guyana Wado Ryu Karate Association (GWKA), Guyana Shotokan Karate International Federation (SKIF GUYANA) and the Guyana Karate College (GKC) were present.
Persons elected to serve as Executive Members of the GKF for the next two years are as follows: Amir Khouri (President), Compton Dunbar (First Vice-President), Guy Low (Second Vice-President), Bernice Irving (Secretary), Patrick Cheeks (Treasurer) and Bhagwandin Persaud (Assistant Secretary/Treasurer).
